Update on our Healing Home baby

You all might remember my Christmas post where the whole family surprised my mom by sponsoring a Healing Home baby (click here to reread the post if you missed it!).  Well, my mom got to name him and she named hime Colin Joel and we are calling him CJ for short.  He is adorable, born in November.  He is small but seems to be thriving!  I am so lucky that I get to stop by and visit this cutie whenever I want!  When my parents were recently in Shanghai I was able to take my mom to see him.  He was unfortunately sleeping but we still managed to get a pic of them together!  Enjoy the pics!

Easter #2 in Shanghai!

I can't believe that we just celebrated our second Easter in Shanghai.  Time really flies!  This year we celebrated Easter with our friends Kelly and Josh.  We went to Maya for Mexican food and then to a beautiful church here in Shanghai.
View inside the church.
We hadn't been to this particular church before but we all really enjoyed it.  It was a beautiful church with gardens and several buildings tucked away in the french concession.  The service was packed, mostly foreigners because the Chinese citizens are not allowed to go to church but there were still a few.

One thing I thought that was interesting was that the only bibles and hymnals that they had were in Chinese.  We even had communion, it was grapefruit juice passed out in little plastic cups and bread in mini baggies.  The whole congregation took it together.  It was at the beginning of the service which none of us had ever experienced.
Kelly and Josh waiting for the service to start.
It was such a nice church and service that we all felt like we were back in the US for a little bit.  Hope everyone had a happy Easter!

Things I love about Shanghai this week...

This week spring has sprung in Shanghai.  We have had beautiful blue skies, amazing temps and best of all my hubby has 3 days off of work!  This week I wanted to share a few of my favorite things that I did.

Outside our apartment.

We spent some time with Josh and Kelly enjoying the outdoors.  The boys played badminton and we enjoyed some beers and snacks.  It was so nice to be able to spend some time in the warm sun!

Wish I could bring some of these back to CO with me!

This was a great new find, sparkling chardonnay in a can!  Perfect for summer and the park! (plus it is less than a dollar!)

My favorite bouquet that I bought!

Another favorite thing to do here is go to the flower market, this week I filled the house with several bouquets.  My home smells like spring!

At the Apartment.

Lastly, I love hanging out with friends.  There are endless things to do.  This week Kelly and I enjoyed a day of spoiling ourselves... wandering around some shops, manicures and then champagne.  So much fun!!
Hope everyone is enjoying nice weather where ever you are as well!
