Pirate's Week

Pirate's week here on Cayman is a big deal every year and it is a week full of fun events and lots of partying.  While we didn't participate in the night time events (We heard it gets a bit crazy!), we did head to George Town to see the opening ceremony and to watch the parade.  The opening ceremony is of course a pirate invasion in which there is a cannon fight and they capture our Governor.  (We get him back at the end of the week).  It was very hot but fun to see.  I started out by wearing Olive in the baby carrier but we quickly went back to the car to get the stroller because it was was too hot.

Starting out our day!

Jet pack performance.
We went with some friends whose little one hated the cannons so they had to head home.  Olive was upset at first by them but luckily got over it because they blasted for like 30 minutes!

Ready to watch the ceremony!

Joshua trying to stay cool.

Rosy cheeks.

The Governor.

Part of the ceremony.

Ready to watch the parade!

Jonny Depp graced us with his presence. (Not really but a good look a like!).

Lots of floats.

Someone didn't make it long into watching the parade.  TIme to head home!

A Sweet Surprise

This weekend I found the happiest of things, pics of Olive's first bath at home, on a camera that Joel and I don't use a lot.  There are also a few of her in her first few days, including a walk with Joel and her first bottle feeding that Joel gave her.  Looking at these I can't believe that this was only 4 short months ago.  My how she has changed!

Here we go, ready for her first walk on the trail!

Collecting golf balls with daddy!

First nap in her crib at G and G's, such a tiny bundle.

First bath at home.  She was not too happy.

I can't believe how tiny she was, she has since out grown this tub by a lot!

Drinking her first bottle like a champ.

Burping with dad!

Ah, full tummy.

I will probably never stop saying this, but I really can't believe how fast she is growing up.  It is so much fun to look back at these and remember how little she was just a short time ago. : )

Pool Dayz

The pool in our complex was finally reopened a few weeks ago after a full remodel and we have been taking full advantage of it.  While we love the beach, sometimes it is just easier to walk out the front door and hop into the pool.  We have been using it in the evenings and also a bunch on the weekends.  Olive of course loves it, she loves to giggle and splash in her floaty we bought her.  Some of my friends here have come over to share in the fun as well.  I think everyone likes it!

Olive laughing at the pool.

Keeping out of the sun in her floaty.

With my baby swimming!

My Trip Home - October 2013

A few weeks ago I traveled home for a visit and to help throw a baby shower for my good friend Kristen who is due in just a few weeks now!  I had the best trip.  Olive did so great on the plane both ways, she was a born traveler!  We got to see lots of friends and spent some time at the cabin, where Olive even got to enjoy her first snow!

Here are a few pics from the baby shower.  Kristen is Due December 7th with her first.  It is a boy!  We are all so excited!

Feeling the bump!

College friends, all of us have babies now with one still in the oven.

Olive is not used to the cold so her Granbee Cooper was nice enough to stock her up on some very cute warm clothes.  She wore her cute fleece on a walk on the golf course with the dogs and grandpa.  She loved it!

Beautiful fall weather!

It was a little big but at least she can wear it again at Christmas!

Grandbee also bought Olive an excersaucer which she had so much fun playing in.  Lots of new toys!

My parents just watched her play in it for a long time.

We also got to spend some time with my brother Colin, it was so fun to hang out with him!  We gave him some baby experience by having him feed her and push the stroller.  He said no to the diaper change however.

On a walk.

After Colin left we headed up to the cabin for some relaxation.  It snowed several inches and it was so nice to be in the cold weather.  Olive loved the snow.  Every time a snowflake would hit her face she would giggle.  It was so cute!

With Grandpa at the cabin.

First jeans!

Guinness was a little scared of her.

Big dog protection.

Loving the snow!

Loved all her new toys.

Snuggled after a bath at the cabin.

Why is it so cold??

Learning early to play the piano.

Juicy jumpsuit?  Check!

New hat?  Check!

Olive got to see tons of family and friends, including her grandpa Lissy and her uncle James!

Meeting Laynie!

Marianne- the baby whisperer!

Joel was so excited to have us home though, he watched our plane land and took some pics of us getting off the plane (you can do that on a small island!)

It was such a great trip, we can't wait to get home again for Christmas!
