Unlike the rest of this process, which has been a little pokey, these last few days have gone very fast. We got our paperwork from China, applied for and received our visas, and booked our flights. Now to just finish packing. Hmmm, is 23 pairs of jeans too many?
Can all these clothes and shoes fit in two suitcases? |
A lot has happened since my last post (you have a lot of time on your hands when you are unemployed!). Joel and I took a trip to Santa Fe with my mom, who instead of the usual piece of Indian jewelry came home with a new house. We were able to spend some time in the mountains relaxing and soaking in as much fresh air as possible. Most importantly we got to spend time with friends and family who we won’t be seeing for quite some time. Unless of course I can talk them into coming for a visit!
During this time we have definitely had mixed responses when we have told people we are moving. It isn't for everyone, picking up and leaving everything you know. But it's the adventure, the thought of the unknown and being out of our comfort zones that is calling to us. We are answering the call, setting sail, throwing off our bowlines and following the wind. See you on the other side of the world...
